TCC Feature Friday

The weeks sure run by fast! It's Friday, AGAIN (TG) and that means a new Feature Friday with the cute images from The Character Cafe and the TCC girls.

This week I have had the joy of working with the Boyz Word Art. This set is so much fun and versatile since it works great with cards AND layouts. I had some really nice fishing photos on my desk, so I decided to go for the layout option. I printed the image from Character Cafe which will be my title on a transperancy, colored the fishing pole and the fish with my Copics (you do know they work great with acetate and transparencies!?)

The fish has a beautiful yellow green transparent color that doesn't really show in the photo. Anyhow, we sure had to wait for that big catch - still...

This week Heather is hosting a FAB tutorial and challenge over at the Character Cafe Blog! It's a must see. The theme is scenery, and Heather is the queen of making a scenery!!!

And must sees are also the projects done by the Design Team for this Feature Friday. Be sure to pop by!

Signing off from Stockholm - where me and dear son are enjoying a mini vacation. It is such a BEAUTIFUL town and we have had a great time so far. I'll be back with some photos tomorrow when we're home again. But I must warn you, I'm a lousy photographer and scrapbook mum. I went to this vacation (the ONLY ONE this year) with a low charged battery that was empty within 24 hours...

Sponging…

…is a blast! I’m a total mess but I like how my card turned out. I really don’t know what’s wrong with me. I can’t even touch an ink pad (with LID ON) without getting ink on my fingers. And it sticks. I know Distress Ink is water soluble, my card is a proof of that. BUT WHY DOES IT STICK TO MY FINGERS??? I’m off for work in 20 minutes and my finger tips have this blueish black shade…

I’ll have that as a memory of last night's fun in the scrap room. It might keep me going today… hehe.

Anyhoo… 365 cards had a sponging challenge yesterday and here is my take on that.

Take Flight Recipe: Papers - Bazzill, water color paper; Ink - Distress ink, Staz On, Adirondacks; Stamps – Prima, Papertrey Ink

I’m off. A day full of work lies ahead of me. Wohooo!

My sweet niece and some blog candy alert

Eyovine is celebrating 1 year as a blogger with a great must-must not challenge. LOVE challenges like that! And this one was fun, fun, fun – especially since I got some new Lemonade papers from Annas Scrapbooking to work with.

En stund av närhet

The challenge: Must – Patterned paper background, minimum of 2 photos, stitching, cardboard paper, flowers and buttons. Must not – Rub ons, brads, bling, Prima roses, pearls.

I like how this turned out and I got it accepted at the Basic Grey gallery. Yay for me. LOL!

Promised a blog candy alert! On of the best places in blog land – A Passion for Papertrey – is having a great give away. This stamp set is a part of it:

I love Papertrey Ink stamps. I have two sets and long for more! But the shipping… need someone to share with! Någon svensk Papertrey Inkfantast därute???

Well, I’m off to see if I can make a card tonight. The 365 cards blog is having Readers Appreciation Week and as always FUN challenges every day! Today it’s sponging! Wohoo, Distress ink! Here I come!

Day 148 – Super Sketchy Sunday

Today is sketch challenge day over at 365 cards. A great sketch it is. I was in Arvika yesterday visiting my LSS Annas Scrapbooking (which, since it moved a couple of months ago, is not that very local anymore). Besides loads of CS I got me some of the June Bug papers. They are sooooooo lovely!!! Sunny, fun and double sided. Made a quick card this using the sketch and the June Bug.

New Beginnings 2

Recipe: Papers - Bazzill, Basic Grey; Stamps - The Artful Stamper, Prima, Papertrey Ink; Ink - Staz On; Flower - Prima.

Made this for my favorite cat woman who was totally brave to quit her job where the boss was nasty, to start over again with school and a new career! Way to go!!!

CPS #125 and Stampavie DT call

I loved the sketch this week over at CPS. Clean and balanced and totally fun to work with and perfect for the stamp I had in mind -  my new Leere Aldrich stamp. I’m totally IN LOVE with these cool ladies! Tried to keep it “classy” with clean lines to match the stamp.

High maintenanceRecipe: Papers – Bazzill, MME; Stamps – Leere Aldrich/Stampavie, Staämpelstudion; Ink – Staz On, Distress Ink; Button – MME; Trim: Fancy Pants.

Stampavie has a design team call out. Ends tonight and it would be like a dream to work with their stamps. And if I don’t give it a go, I will never have the chance. Right!?  So here I am, showing my two fav cards so far with two of my stamps from Stampavie. The second one is a Sarah Kay stamps. So cute, and here I tried to go a little bit vintage. She is colored with Distress ink.

Kram #2_redigerad-1 Recipe: Papers – Bazzill, MME, Prima; Stamps – Sarah Kay, Prima; Ink - Staz On, Distress Ink; Flowers – Magdas, Prima.

Good night and please, keep your fingers crossed! LOL!

TCC Feature Friday and a "KAOS"

It’s Friday and time for a Feature Friday with The Character Cafe. I have the pleasure to host the Work it Wednesday challenge this week, so I don’t have any new card to share. But the rest of the Design Team do! AND the challenge runs until thuseday next week, and can be combined with any other challenge, so be sure to play along!

And this week, we also have our first ever GUEST DESIGN TEAM member. VERDA! She has done an amazing card so be sure to pop by her place HERE!

Have a lovely Weekend!

--------------------

* Titel: KAOS - Kreativa Artister med Otrolig Skaparglädje
* Skaparens eget namn
* Storlek: 10x15cm

Edward and Bella…

…have ruined my sleep. Before I get in to that just a note about the Blog Hop:

If you are here for The Character Cafe Blog Hop celebrating the release of new digi stamps, you have come to the right place. You can find the blog hop post HERE

Back to Edward and Bella. It was quite some time ago I read a book that got me hooked like the first Twilight did. And the book is really strange. Not very good language (might be the Swedish translation but I’m not sure), silly story (I mean SERIOUSLY – VAMPIRES???) and totally addictive. When 365 cards had the Twilight challenge the other day I bought the book. And didn’t let go until it was done. Then I made a card. This one. A green and wet dream card.

THEN I read the challenge... DUH black card base and red patterned paper... Guess this wont count, but I don't care, I really like how it turned out. LOL!

Dream

Did I mention that I ordered the last three books today…

I’ve used Kazan’s sketch 31 over at 2Sketches4You. It’s a really great sketch!

Work it Wednesday and day 144

If you are here for The Character Cafe Blog Hop celebrating the release of new digi stamps, you have come to the right place. You can find the blog hop post HERE.

This week it’s my time to host the challenge over at The Character Cafe. It’s a stitching thingy and I hope you want to play. There are digi images of your choice and a Guest DT spot in the hat! You can find my “tutorial” and challenge HERE.

The card I made for the tutorial is also inspired by the day 144: You raise me up at the 365 cards blog (NOT 364 that I stated the other day… hehe, sorry… *blushing*) Btw, the day 142:Movie Monday has totally ruined my sleep. Had to go get that freaking book everybody is talking about, and geee, couldn't stop reading last night...

Kort 1

The card is using the Bertie & Friend image and I’ve used quite a few ways to ad dimension: Pop up dots, layering, piercing and glossy accent on the flower centers and on Bertie’s eyes.

Kort detalj 2 Well, I don’t know if the glossy accent is visible, but I really like the effect it gives in IRL.

And a little “extra” project I did with my assigned Blog Hop image. I LOVE that Sunflower, and I could use it on pretty much everything. I did a pin cushion out of a jar, the fabric I use has a sun flower pattern.

Nålburk 1

Well, back to work! Thanks for stopping by!

365 cards Super sketchy Sunday

If you are looking for The Character Cafe Blog Hop you can find it HERE! Come on and join – there are a chance to win images of your choice, getting a freebie and earn a discount!!!

The Sunday sketch this week over at 364 cards is beautiful and totally said “envelope card” to me. I’ve been thinking about making a card like this ever since I saw the tutorial in a magazine a couple of months ago. So it was about time.

New Beginnings ny version We’ve been away visiting my brother and meeting up with my parents during the weekend, and seeing my mum FINALLY finding some peace with her lost vision on one of her eye and trying to start a new life was wonderful. So I made this card for her, to encourage her in the fight to return to work and an active life.

New Beginnings detalj2And I hope this is the last time I can make a card and put it on my blog before she has received it!

Thanks for visiting and thank you so very much for all the sweet comments you’ve left me!

The Character Cafe July BLOG HOP

This is turning into a nice tradition – a blog hop to celebrate the release of new images at The Character Cafe! This is our second blog hop and it starts HERE at The Character Cafe Design Team page, and if you didn’t start there, and if you didn’t come from Elaine’s blog, you might want to start from the beginning. You’ll end up here in a little while!

If you follow this blog hop through, leave a little comment on our blogs and collect the 8 character code (my part of the code will be found at the end of this post!) you can:

1. win a PRIZE (actually there will be TWO!),

2. be eligible to a 30% DISCOUNT,

3. find a FREEBIE!

The hop will continue until Friday 24th, and the discount code will be good until Sunday 26th. There is plenty of time!

I have the most beautiful Sunflower image to showcase today. It has such details and the possibilities with this one is endless. At once I saw it I knew I wanted to use it doing a birthday box, a box containing cards with the birthdays of all my family friends and their addresses to keep in my scrap room. (Click the images to get bigger photos!)

Blog hop 1 I printed three Sunflower images and layered it to get some dimension. The sunflower is colored with copics (except the leaves, they are distress ink – still only have one green copic marker and you need at least two shades!).

Blog hop 2 I made my own cards (two sets - on with each month, one for addresses) printing the sunflower in the lower left corner in a smaller size. Love the resizing possibilities with digi stamps!

Blog hop 3

Project recipe: Box template: PTI, Papers: Bazzill, Basic Grey, Stamp: The Character Cafe, Prima, Misc: lace, glass stones, nestabilities, copics, distress ink.

I know I will use this one over and over again! Like on Wednesday when it’s my turn to host Work it Wednesday. Be sure to check in!

Time to continue the hop and give you the essentials:

My part of the code is: 1

And next stop is at Colleen’s blog.

Here is the full blog hop list:

1. Sara
2. Mary
3. Heather
4. Steph
5. Shelley
6. Billie
7. Elaine

Clean and Simple

Is such a beautiful style, and I’m struggling with it. I always fail and go berserk with flowers and stuff. Sometimes the end result is good – but nowhere near clean and simple. Today I’ve made my first CaS that stayed CaS and that I actually like. I’m happy.

Thanks 2 Made it in fifteen minutes on my lunch break. But then again, I had the great sketch of the week over at 2Sketches4You helping me with the design, and the challenge of the day at 365 Cards blog giving me the color combo.

Thought I’d share a couple of the ATCs I made for the Swap I participated in. Check out the previous post to see the ones I received. They are GORGEOUS!

The recipient like: art, vibrant colors, politics, retro, grammar, the Swedish language, books. She dislike: pastels, green, Astrid Lingren (!) Mass production.

ATC 1 Hehe, this one was fun doing!

The next swap participant like: gardening, vintage, stitching, pink, green, proverbs, angels (among other things).

ATC 2 Need to get dinner cooking. Thanks for stopping by! And the lovely comments are VERY appreciated!!!

CPS #124

The sketch over at CPS this week is a great one. Again. Made a card with one of my all time favorite stamp from Cherry Pie. A butterfly that is one of the first stamps I actually bought when started off this hobby a couple of years ago. Haven’t used it in a while, so it was about time. Kept it really simple, and used the colors of last week’s color challenge over at SPCC. It was to late to participate, but the colors are great together. I think.

Spread your wings

Spread your wings 2

The swirl is from an old Inque Boutique set and the sentiment from my beloved Birds of a Feather set from PTI.

I’ve been participating in one of the coolest ATC swaps ever. We all made our own favorite recipe – naming things we like – and then we made unique cards to every one using their own recipe. (Making any sense???)

Here are the gorgeous ATCs I received today! Great huh! Guess what color and items I named as favorites??? Hehe!!!

ATC swap I got a box of really, really nice stuff today so I’ll head down to my scrap room with a couple of challenges printed out. Have a nice evening!

A card and a chance to win

This is my Sunday take on Sketch Saturday challenge. I spent an hour in my scrap room this evening and I made two cards (!!!). I’m making cards like crazy, and I don’t know what to do with them. The last couple of weeks they’ve started to pile up. What do you do with all your cards??? I used to send them, but can’t keep up nowadays. I’m rambling. Here is my card for Sketch Saturday (GREAT sketch!).

A little birdie 2A little birdie 4We’ve had a lovely day today. We went to IKEA and got a beautiful chair for our library. Among other things… I also got me three black frames and for the first time framed my own photos. Looks great (my humble opinion… hehe) and didn’t cost a fortune. I’m happy!

And the chance to win part: There is an AMAZING contest/challenge/blogcandy going on over at The Cuttlebug Spot. They are  trying to reach 1000 followers (which they did only like ten minutes ago!) and if you become a follower you will have the opportunity to win $1000 at Custom Crops. I said it’s AMAZING!

And now this weekend is coming to an end, and it has been a really good one! Except the weather…

7/11/2009

New banner - again!!!

And this time, it's MUCH better! My dear Kendra showed mercy with me, and helped me out - even though I know she is working hard right now finishing off the July releases at The Character Cafe. Yeah, I know, she is sooooo sweet!

I should NOT be sitting here, I should be at a bbq party. But ever since I woke up 5.30 am the rain has ben pouring. ALL THE TIME. So we had to postpone. Sigh. Well, that means an evening with Kingkong or an evening in my scraproom. Decisions, decisions....

Here is the card I did this morning. It's for the Friday Sketchers challenge this week. Fab sketch and a FANTASTIC prize from Motivet. You should check it out.

I tried a distressed look and I've used the last pieces of some of my absolute fav papers - Basic Grey, Prima and MM. I'll miss them!

The assignment this week for the Photo Challenge over at APiT has been portraits. That is a though one, since my DS is not very cooperative. Last time when I wanted to take his photo I tried with threats, but that totally FAILED, this time I tried bribes. Much better. But it was hard anyway. He has this photo smile... These are my two fav portraits.

Most of the time he looked like this (despite the generous bribe):

It's not easy. Not easy at all! LOL!

7/09/2009

Friday and time...

...for Feature Friday with The Character Cafe! This week, I've been working the Wedding Bling set, which is a set of really beautiful sentiments and images perfect for wedding invitations or wedding cards. I made a Best wishes card exploring the possibilities of mixing ordinary stamping and digi stamps.

I started with printing and coloring my image (used copics). Next step was to ink the white cardstock with Distress ink, worn lipstick. Starting from the edges working inwards toward the center. More color on the edges, less in the center. The damask stamp is done with clear ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I added more distress ink - broken china and aged mahogany, working from the edges inwards - and the damast stamp evolves. I finished it of with some stickles in the flower centers. Here is a close up to show the stickles in the centers of the little flowers. It gives a really nice glittery look.

The mixing of stamps worked fine! No smearing what so ever, and no problems with the heat and powder. And I love how it all came out. The little yellow bells really pop against all the pinkish red.
On The Character Cafe blog you find the Work it Wednesday tutorial and challenge, this week hosted by Mary. There is a PRIZE!!! And you find more samples of The Character Cafe images at the rest of the DT's Feature Friday posts. (I'm an early bird, and there is quite a time difference so if there isn't a post up just yet, it will get there!)

Wish you all a wonderful weekend . Got to love Fridays!

Tea bag holder

Tea bag card insidaInsidan.

New Banner

FINALLY!!! I’ve been thinking and trying to get me a new banner for quite some time. I’ve toured the free banner creators of the net and  failed on a number of occasions. I’ve come to the conclusion I have a LOT to LEARN about computers and their software. Duh, like I didn’t know that before.  This banner was tolerable, and I’ll keep it until I learn how to do a better one.

I’ve found an European Papertrey Ink blog, with challenges and inspiration using the fab stamps from PTI. I’ve been a huge fan of PTI forever (I think the PTI Design Team is the best there is! WOW! And the stamps…) so the blog A Passion for Papertrey is my find of the month. I’ve made a card for the  challenge they run right now (until Monday 13 July):

Hello Friend The leave stamp is from  the Texed Box set and Hello Friend from Birds of a feather.

Hello Friend detalj #1 I’ve used the CPS sketch #123.

7/07/2009

Camping…

…is a nice way to spend ones vacation. I know, we did that for many years when I was a child. When trying to get our tent down in pouring rain, I miss the life as a child with a trailer. To be a mother with a tent (especially in rain)  is a completely different story. Anyhoo, a friend of mine implied that she would love to receive one of my cards, and since she left for a ten day camping vacation with family in a trailer – and the sketch of the week over at 2Sketches4You was totally inspireing, I thought I’d make her a trailer card. With my hÄnglar stamps. All three of them. But I promise, I’ll let them rest for some time now!

HusvagnI did a template out of a oval and a rectangle in word. I used my metallic crackle paint for the wheel, turned out pretty good.

Husvagn detaljNice reflection, huh? Hehe, I’ve   downloaded the Windows Live Writer and I need to check out all the possibilities – right!

And Suss, I’ve taken you on your words, you will stay in your trailer and on the beach and come nowhere NEAR a computer. And if you do, just ignore this and pretend you’ve never seen it!

Tonight we are all going out for dinner and a movie. Ice Age 3.  WOHOO!!! But before that, got to keep on working. Have a great day!

7/05/2009

Another card

While a scrapbook block is holding me in a tight grip, I’m making cards. Coloring images like a mad woman – it’s soooo much fun! And curse the fact that I actually don’t have that many colorable stamps in my stash. Might need to do something about that soon. Meanwhile, I have fun with my three hÄnglar och stÄnglar stamps (and try to keep a list over who has already got cards with them on it – the list is getting longer). Found a really great sketch over at Sketch Saturday and thought I’d try it out.

Etsy #2Etsy #2 detalj  Have a nice Sunday evening!

TCC’s Feature Friday

There are a lot going on at The Character Cafe!

First I want to share my image of the week, Princess Ally! I’ve made a card for my youngest niece Rebecca who LOVES pink and princesses. So pink and princess it is. LOL! (The photos are clickable!)

Princess Ally This Wednesday, The Character Cafe blog launched Work it Wednesday, a weekly happening which features a technique/theme and a challenge every week from now on. And yes, you’ve got that right, it’s on Wednesdays! LOL! This week, Kendra (owner) shares a really fun technique which ads texture and shine to colored images. Check it out HERE. I had to try it out on my princess dress to get a satin shiny look.

Princess Ally detalj #2LOVE how that turned out!!! And it’s really easy! Go check the tutorial out! You will also find the cutest Freebie ever, celebrating Canada on July 1th. Yes, it is a beaver…

To get a nice back of my card, I cut Princess Ally’s head out with my Nestabilities and stamped some swirls and signed my design.

Princess Ally detalj #1 It’s not only me who fell in love with Ally’s pretty face. I’ve had my oldest niece Isabella, 6 years, visiting for a couple of days. And some of the nicest moments we had were when we were coloring our Allys together. She made Allys to all of us and cut them out beautifully. This is mine:

Princess Ally detalj #3She is eating an apple. Fruit is good for me, she promptly stated.

If you want a chance to win Ally or any of the other The Character Cafe images of your choice, you have the chance this week over at the Friday Sketchers. The Character Cafe is sponsoring this weeks challenge.

Wrapping it up: Check out the BLOG for a Tutorial, a Challenge and a Freebie. And if you want a great Sketch, the Friday Sketchers is sponsored by TCC. AND go visit the rest of the Design Team for more projects using the TCC images.
