A layout and a fond farewell

Hi folks! Hope you are all having a lovely week. I’m still flying high on my good news and I’m also happy about meeting my family for this weekend. Both mom and dad and my brother and family will come visiting. Love to have them around!

Here is one of my nieces on a layout I made for a competition a while ago, it’s based on the sketch in this post. Isn’t she like gold???

5 guldfia

Now over to the farewell part. I’ve decided to step down from the DT of Firecracker Designs by Pamela. *sniff* The girls are the loveliest ladies around and you GOT TO LOVE that awesome red deep etched rubber with the funny sentiments… Oh well… I will still have my rubber and the girls on my blog list. I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite cards from my DT period.

Tesa Oct_01This is the first official DT card I did in October, it’s also the card I had on my Blog Hop Post for the World Card Making Day hosted by Moxie Fab World. It’s special! The stamps are from the Women in Character Set.

Second one is this. LOVE this sentiment!!! LOL!

Feb 1 It’s done with my absolute favorite stamp set, the A Little Bird Told Me… Thank you Pam and DT! It’s been so much fun!

A Blue Communion Card

A friend of my mothers asked if I could make her a blue Communion card. So here it is. Didn’t have anything more appropriate as main image, but hey, a huge bouquet of Roses is festive, right?

Konfirmationskort

Blue it is. Very blue. Hope she likes a very blue card.. LOL! And since it's blue, I'm entering it in The Pink Elephant's Aqua challenge.

I’ve had a great day today and would love to share some good news. First my head tutor decided that I will have my dissertation act in December (if we are able to find a good date for all involved) and I got a scholarship which will pay for my last months of working on my dissertation. I will actually have some money! YAY! First thing I have them on my bank account, I’ll head for the hair dresser and buy me a new spring coat! Life is good!

Have a lovely evening folks!

Goood Monday Folks

It’s a brand new week, with sunshine and Valborgsmässoafton (Swedish spring celebration with fireworks, bonfire and speaches) with family time around the corner. Aaaaand, I think there are scrapbooking supplies coming my way this week. No more ashes to keep me separated from the stuff I love the most… LOL!

I have two layouts to share today. First a page I truly love cause the colors and atmosphere came out just right and the way I intended (and that is RARE!). I did it for a competition, but I crashed and burned on that one. I did get some new favorite layouts done though (four more to come) so it was a good competition.

2 Lika...

I’m very happy about the title letters, they are hand cut and covered with several layers of different crackle paint and inks, so they ended up distressed but shimmering like the sea and cliffs and reflecting the colors on the photo.

Lika.... detalj

Yesterday I did a quick page for a circle lift challenge I signed up for a month ago… It was like GET IT DONE - time… Had no mojo at all but it turned out fairly ok. At least part of it. LOL!

Underbara vår I have a busy week ahead of me, so I’d better get to work. Have a great day, enjoy the spring weather (you who are fortunate to have some around!) and see you soon!

Super Sketchy Sunday

Welcome to a new Super Sketchy Sunday with 365 cards!

We have a fun sponsored Digital Delights week ahead of us!!!

The sketch is as always a fab one and super fun to play with. This time there were no olives! LOL!

Ok, over to my card. I got the super cute Octopus to work with and I thought that all those arms for sure would be great for loads of hugs – hence a hug theme.

Kramar_redigerad-1Since it’s going out to one of my favorite girls who happens to love pink,  pink it is. And some blue stickles for some flair!

I hope to see your take on the sketch!!!

******

I have a second card today. My niece is turning 7 on Tuesday and that calls for a birthday card. I used another sketch for this, the Mojo Monday #135. I went a little crazy with my Green at Heart papers. My son decided I was to use a photo of her on the front, and I love how that came out. I think she’ll like it, she already sees herself as the queen of the house…

Grattis Isabella That’s all for today. I’m doing some garden work. I truly detest that. But I also need to stay friends with my neighbors… I wasn’t aware that I both lack skills and motivation for growing a garden until we moved here. Figures…

Wedding invitation

Nope, it’s not for me. Once is enough (even though it WAS FUN!!!). But I found out last week that my youngest cousin is getting married this summer. Wohoo! And his future wife wanted some help with inspiration for the wedding invitations. I’ve been searching the web for beautiful and romantic samples to give to her, but I thought I’d make a sample of my own too. Just for fun! It’s based on the oh so fab Laura’s sketch #50 over at  2Sketches4You. Thought it would work perfect for a romantic wedding card, and I’m really pleased with how this came out.

Inbjudan ståendeBeautiful Prima papers and some lovely lace is all what it takes. I made it with the thought of having it standing up like this, but it fell over while I tried to photograph it, and it works the other way around too… LOL.

Inbjudan liggandeThis is my second post today. It will be the last. Promise! If you want to see my color explosion of an owl card, it’s here.

Take care and thanks for your visit!

Back again

Phew! I’ve had one of those really, really tough weeks. Allergy, worst 3 days migraine in years and loads to do at work. It doesn’t leave much room for crafting. It’s as simple as that. But my fingers have been itching and I stood up really, really early today to get a couple of cards done. It felt GOOD!

I have a friend that has had not only a rough week but a rough year, and she’s topped it off with two awfully bad news the last couple of days. She needs some cheering up and this easel card is for her.

UgglaUggla öppenWell, I thought this Hero Arts Owl would cheer pretty much anybody up, and I topped it off with my happiest paper – the Green at Heart paper pad from Basic Grey. I know, I’ve used it A LOT, and guess what…. There are more to come! LOL!

I got the inspiration to this card over at the Dutch Dare Card Challenges. They have an easel and repeat challenge this week, and it is way to long ago since I last did an easel. I “repeated” or continued the legs of the owl.

I’m signing off, it’s time to give dear son some breakfast. Have a wonderful Saturday and I hope to see you tomorrow when it’s time for another 365 cards Super Sketchy Sunday!

Super Sketchy Sunday

Good Sunday Folks! It’s Super Sketchy Sunday time at 365 Cards!

And once again, our lovely Pam, has made a super unique and totally inspiring sketch - especially if you are into Olives… Right Rose!?!

You simply HAVE to go check the DT cards out – so fun to see all the different takes on this one (from totally CRAZY funny stuff to clean and simple beauties). Here is my card.

April #3

Papers: Bazzill, Webster’s pages

Stamps: Prickley Pear Rubber StampsPolka Dot Circle, Rose Bunch.

Ink: Memento, chalk

Decos etc: stickles, clear embossing powder, nestabilities swirls, Prima pearls, scrappers floss.

I wasn’t in the olive mood. Sorry! =D Instead I tried to make me a paper flower out of this FAB TUTORIAL found on the oh so talented Gabi’s blog. We have the pleasure of having her as a Guest DT at Firecracker Designs by Pamela this month, and me and the girls are so inspired! I love how this flower turned out. I added a third layer (after seeing this!)

Hope you will play with us this week! Have a lovely Sunday!

Card Patterns

…are having a fabbie new sketch today (here). I had to play right away. I felt the urge to scrap … hehee, ok, I always have that… I tried to use all scraps, (I really need to be better at using up all the little pieces!!!) and the card base is the tanned kraft cardstock. It’s new for me, and I’m in love! It has this warmer and richer color compared with the kraft paper I’m used to. Small pleasures!

Heard you were home

Papers: Bazzill, Daisy Bucket, Dream Street Papers
Stamps: Firecracker Designs by PamelaA little bird told me…
Ink: Memento, Distress ink
Decos etc: Scalloped scissors, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Kaiser rhinestones, flower and button from stash.

Now it’s family time. We’ll have some tacos and see a DVD. Take care and don’t forget the 365 Cards super sketchy sunday tomorrow!

A Saturday Shirt Card

Hi peeps! Hope you are having a good start of the weekend! I begun mine really, really early this morning and decided to make a card for next weeks birthday celebration. It’s for my next door co worker who has turned 60. I’m not very much a male card kind of gal, and I was stumped until Eva at Ljuva Änglar suggested a shirt card á la Maya. Okidoki. I found the most gorgeous card HERE and this is a lift/case of that one.

Grattis POGrattis PO öppen I have made an origami tie, it was really easy (and almost a pity to hide it away like that!) -  a video tutorial how to do that one and a super easy shirt card can be found HERE. I will for sure be doing a couple of them for Fathers day!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday. Hope to see you then!

Huge failure…

365 cards is having a full week of white space challenges in tribute to the Spring Challenge Blog Hop. It’s not for me. At all. I realized that today… When I tried and tried to fulfill today’s challenge. And I failed. I simply could not keep myself from attaching a ribbon. It was kind of too empty…

Baby Boy 2

Papers: Bazzill, Bo Bunny

Stamp: Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps

Ink: Versa Fine

Decos etc: Mini Alphabet from MM, ribbon, nestabilities and copics.

But I like it anyway. And I think that Pam is too hard on us with all this white space and besides, Gloria made this (claiming she followed the rules (HA!) and  Rose set an example with this card… Trying to go a little rebel here… (probably another failure in the end).

Have a fabbie Friday!

BLOOM – It’s a Firecracker Design Blog Hop!

Howdy folks! It’s time for our monthly Firecracker Design by Pamela Blog Hop. This month, we have a springy word play theme. Our task is to use a springy word and I chose Bloom, and make each letter apply to my card in some way. At least one letter should represent: 1) Color, 2) Embellishment, 3) Image. The remaining letters are my choice how to apply them.

Okidoki. Here we go.

B – Balloons (image)
L – Lace (embellishment)
O – Orange (color)
O – Onyx Black (it was a tough one so I tried to be creative…)
M – Metal (Metal brad, metal flower! Yihaa, I made it!)

Baloons The stamp I’ve used is an awesome digi called Blow Me Away which includes both balloons and cute sentiment. I’ve paper pieced the balloons with my oh so loved Green at Heart papers and coated them with Glossy Accent.

Now over to the Blog Hop info:

The official start time of this Hop is Friday, at 8:00 AM (EST). If you arrived early, please be patient as all the links may not be live yet.

This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

The winner of a prize – Some Super Red Rubber - will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess that we don’t even know who it will be until the hop is over…so that’s why you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog, so you don’t miss out!

**To find out if you’ve won… you will be contacted by Pamela via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on Pamela’s blog after the blog hop ends on Mon, at 8:00 PM (EST).**

Now, to continue the circle, you will need to hop on over to

~~* KARYN *~~

and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started! Thanks so much for playing along with us and we hope you have a great time!

Thanks for joining us!!!

More Prickley Pear

Today is the big release day over at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I have had so much fun playing with some of them. Today I have tried to make a vintage looking card with some fabbie Graphic 45 and this map stamp. Love the detail in this one!

April #2

Papers: Bazzill, Graphic 45
Stamp: Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp
Ink: Versa Fine, Versa Mark
Decos etc: Flowers fromPrima and Kort og Godt, tag from 7 Gypsies, Kaiser pearls, Ranger embossing powder, punch from EK success, lace.

The card is based on the great Card Patterns sketch #59. I’m off for tonight. My son has a air rifle competition in a couple of hours. His first, so he is soooo nervous! LOL! And before that we are going out for a Burger dinner. He is spoiled rotten.

See ya!

Tesa (who is soooo happy cause she was one of the winner over at Mojo Monday last week with this card and I’m over the moon excited. And the prize is a fab one – I’ve always wanted me some Verve stamps!!!!)

Prickley Pear Sneak Peak

It’s time for the release from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps on Friday April 15. They are fantastic. I had to ink them up right away and give you a hint of what to expect! Here is my first go with some amazing tulips.

April #1

I did a combined spring card/mini layout and kept it simple. See the beautiful tulips in the photo? Well, I used them as inspiration. Hope you like it! Have a fabbie evening!

Yet another birthday card…

I warned you they would be plentiful this month. Here is another. This one is for my co worker who turned 60 last week and will be celebrated on Wednesday. I hope she likes it! I loved Kazan’s sketch # 50 over at 2Sketches4You (well, ok, I always do… lol).

Grattis Kerstin3

Wonderful Weekend!

I’ve had a great weekend with my sweet friend and her boyfriend visiting. We did a tour to town yesterday, took a walk in the park, had lunch and ended up by the pool table. I love pool! I only wish I was a tiny winy little good at it… But as long as the opponents stink even worse, I’m good… Hehee. I teamed up with A and son and we totally kicked a**. Hubby and boyfriend never saw what was coming and they never had a chance. I’ll live on this one for quite some time. Ha!

2010 apr 09_5305_redigerad-1

A and boyfriend left us an hour ago and I headed to my scrap room (serious addiction…) to make a quick page just for fun. I have had this photo on my desk for ages, and I simply decided it was about time to scrap it. I wanted the calm and loving feel of the photo to dominate the layout and decided on a soft blue and green color scheme with but a few embellies. I used the  really fab sketch for the Sketchy Thursday’s Second Chance challenge.

Så söta tillsammans  Took me like 30 minutes but I really like how it turned out. Now I’ll go make some cards. Have a lovely evening folks!

Super Sketchy Sunday!!!

Hi all! It’s the best time of the week – time for a new Super Sketchy Sunday!

Pam has once again made a  super inspiring sketch for us all to play with. Check it out!

When i saw it I remembered the card folding that was very popular a couple of years ago. The Diagonal Double Pocket Card. Some of my friends made the most amazing creations with it, but I never came around to try it. Well, better late than never! I found a tutorial on SCS HERE.  And this is my take.

A single rose...

Paper: Bazzill Kraft, Maja Design
Stamps: Firecracker Designs by PamelaPaper Roses, Stämpelgården
Ink: Memento
Decos etc: Vintage paper cuts, Prima half pearls, ribbon and lace.

Notice the gorgeous home made lace and button flower!?! It’s a RAK I got from Li-bee ti. Love it!!! Thanks again! I mailed this card earlier this week, and now I realize I never took any photos of the tags. Oh well, on one of them there is the cutest little pug. Love these dogs!!!

You HAVE to check the DT cards out, they are AMAZING this week (they always are, but I think my friends outdid themselves this time around!)

Have a fabbie Sunday and hope you will play with us!

Happy Birthday…

…again. It’s that time of year. April is the month with most births and hence birthdays in Sweden,  which means there are a lot of birthday cards to be made. Here is another one. For a co worker. Really simple and quick card (I really, really didn’t have time to do this…) with few embellies, but I like the design based on the Get Sketchy Sketch this week. I also used

Grattis KerstinWe are having guests this weekend  and we are off for some fun in town today and I’m planning a delish dinner for tonight. I see my best friend way to seldom, so I plan to do the most out of it. Wish you all a lovely weekend!

Happy Birthday…

…to my hubby! He turns, ehhhh OLDER today. =D I have a cake to bake, dinner to make and two nine year olds to keep busy with stuff that wont jeopardize the house. It’ll be an interesting evening.

Grattis på födelsedagen anders I’ve used Card Patterns’ sketch #58 and some Crate papers in a lame attempt to make a male card. I added some stickles at the stars and a pink flower for some flair and as an answer to my son’s judgement – it looks dull, mom… Oh well… He is sweet. And honest.

Expect Miracles

A quick one today. Moxie Fab World presented a fab sketch and even fabbier (???) cards based on the sketch so I simply had to try that one out. Didn’t read the fine prints first though, the part where one is supposed to use the sketch in an innovative way…. Tehee, not much of an innovation here, but I like how it turned out anyway.

Expect Miracles

Papers: Bazzill, Maja Design
Stamp: Firecracker Designs by PamelaBuncha Daises
Decos etc: Copics, sentiment from Vintage clip art, lace, ribbon and pearls.

Have a fab Wednesday!

2 Sketches 4 You…

…has another fabbie sketch up this week that I simply had to play with. I started out last night with a great idea in mind but the road went bumpy and I strayed. A lot…. But if you are on your best of moods, you can see most of the elements…

Bloom On April

Papers: Bazzill and a beautiful scrap paper (the last piece!!!)

Stamps: Prickley Pear Rubber StampsBerry Bunches, Mainly Flowers half sheet.

Ink: Versa Fine, Distress ink

Decos etc: Kaiserkraft rhinestones, stickles, fancy tags and circles from Spellbinders and lace.

I like it and it anyway. It has great dimension with several layers and the stickles and lace gives texture.

Bloom on detaljI'm also entering this in The Pink Elephant's Nature challenge. Lot's of nature on this card! :D

I have a new pile of tests to grade on my desk, so I’d better return to that. Take care!

The beautiful art of…

…procrastinate is something I excel in. Instead of returning to the ironing (see this post) I made…

ANOTHER CARD.

Grattis AndersIt’s for my co worker who had a baby boy last month. I had the pleasure of going shopping for baby clothes (again, second time in like two months, love shopping baby clothes!) and here is a card to go with that. It’s based on the fabbie Mojo Monday sketch 133. The papers are beautiful Webster’s pages. Love this stuff!!!

But now, folks, I’ve reached the point of no return. No way back from here.

See ya!

Beautiful Sea

We are having a calm day at our house. Hubby is taking care of trees in our garden and I have been ironing. I truly hate that, and usually let hubby do it. But the choice of taking down trees and ironing was pretty easy. I’ve set it up right outside my scrap room and make sure to take a break every now and then (more every now than then…). Which mean I’ve managed to make one layout and one card, but am still not finished with the ironing business… Oh well.

Vårt vackra havI love this photo from a very nice day trip me and son did last spring. I’ve already scrapped several photos so I didn’t feel the urge to journal and decided to keep the page clean with focus on the photo. I used this week’s Sketchy Thursday sketch.

While the Sketchy Thursday map was a fun and easy one to follow, the quilt pattern over at 365 cards was NOT (well it was FUN, just not EASY!). But when I saw it I simply had to try, just to figure out if it was possible or not… Well… I don’t know… Dear son said (very courteous) that it’s not the best card I’ve done… Since I put down quite some work on it and used my favorite papers, I thought I’d share it anyway. Be nice!

Fjäril

Papers: Bazzill, Basic Grey
Stamps: The Rubber CaféLarge Highwing Butterfly
Ink: Versa Mark, Distress Ink
Decos etc: Flower – Kort og Godt, EK success punch, clear embossing powder from Ranger.

I’d better take another round with that iron. Have a lovely day!

Super Sketchy Sunday

Happy Easter to all  who celebrates it! I hope you are having a lovely Holliday!

And happy Super Sketchy Sunday!

Pam has made another fabbie sketch to get our mojo going! I know I was thrilled when I saw it – love those panels!!!

I combined two of my favorite products: Basic Grey’s Green at Heart paper pad and Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Pure Yummieness!!!

Paris

Papers: Bazzill, Basic Grey
Stamps: Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps – Paris and Mother’s day half sheet, Mainly Flowers (the butterfly)
Ink: Versa Fine.
Decos etc: Fancy tags from Spellbinders and clear embossing powder from Ranger.

I’ve always dreamt of meeting spring in Paris. It didn’t happen this year either, but I’ll keep on dreaming! LOL!

Hope you will play with us at 365 cards! See you around!

Happy Easter and a RAK

Now is the official starting time for the Broman Easter Holliday Celebration and it feels soooo good! Four days free from work filled with family time, lovely dinners, one or two glasses of wine and time to scrap. Life is good!

And when I came home from work today a wonderful surprise was waiting in my mailbox. The most awesome Spring Flower Card and a RAK from sweet Li-bee ti! Check this out!

RAK from LibeetiShe knows I’m longing for spring, and this did for sure brighten my grey day.  And notice the fab home made button and lace flowers!!! Awesome! Thank you!!!

The last couple of days I’ve been working on the A Page in Time April Kit, and I can tell you it’s a GREAT one! Pink Paislee and Adorn It papers and decorations. Check the kit out HERE. I have a little sneak peak for you today.

0410TesaQueenBeExtraredigeradIn my photo shop, the color of the cardstock has the original soft yellow color, but it disappears somewhere on the way over to my blog post… Oh well. The photo is from a day trip we did to a medieval castle  in 2008. J was so fascinated by the building and he kept saying “Check this OUT!” LOL! The layout is based on Pencil Lines sketch 180.

Happy Easter folks!!!
